Hanging on...

We went to the doctor yesterday morning, and thank goodness we did. It turns out that Miller's high fever was the result of a pretty severe ear infection, probably caused by another bad cold virus. The doctor asked if Miller was vomiting, and I said "no" while trying to knock on wood. (I suspected that the wood I knocked on was just faux paneling.) My suspicions were correct. As soon as we got home, Miller started vomiting and refused to eat or drink the rest of the day. By the evening, we were force feeding her Pedialyte through a syringe so she wouldn't get dehydrated. She seems to be doing a bit better this morning because she nursed, but otherwise, she's still feeling miserable. What also concerns me is that Colby acted like a lunatic this morning and started to get a green drip out of his nose. Can this really be happening? Again? We haven't had well children in this house for over a month.

Without even knowing what was going on here, Colby and Miller's Nana had great timing and sent me an e-mail this morning with a link to a song. She reminded us to enjoy each moment with the children, even the ups and down, because it all passes so quickly. Some days it helps to be reminded of this.
